We have 5 pricing categories:
Type 1 – Professionally recorded one-on-one interview with native-English speaking interviewees, ‘talking heads.’ Note: If you want the questions in a one-on–one interview transcribed Verbatim in addition to the answers, Type 2 pricing applies (unless interviewer is properly miked).
Type 2 – One-on-one interviews which do not qualify as Type 1 for such reasons as: accents, background noise, poor sound quality, most phone interviews, etc.
Type 3 – Any audio where more than 2 people are talking. This includes conferences, focus groups, multi-person seminars and conference calls.
Reality – This requires both transcription of the audio and brief general descriptions of B-Roll.
Logging of B-Roll footage with timecode – detailed descriptions of what is seen together with timecodes.
Additional option for video:
Transcription with timecode – insert timecodes at approximately 20-40 second intervals beginning at the interviewee’s response to a question. We also offer multiple styles of transcription:
Clean Verbatim – we remove the extraneous sounds and grammar is corrected (gonna = going to, won't = will not). This is primarily used for speeches, focus groups, and most ordinary business activities. This is our standard transcription.
True Verbatim – includes ‘uhms,’ ‘aahs’ and ‘st-stutters’ (incorrect English and contractions typed as heard). We will note background noises if desired. This is primarily used by video/media producers. Your Style Verbatim - Anywhere in between Clean and True Verbatim. You tell us how you want your transcript. Notes and Special Charges: If you have a mix of Types on a recording, the entire recording will be billed at the higher of the rates (e.g. interviews with B-Roll priced as Reality).
Minimum Charge: There is a minimum charge of $30.00 for each recording transcribed.
Not transcribable fee – $15.00 (for audio submitted which is unable to be clearly understood). In order to produce the highest quality transcription for you, we request the following: - 24 hours notice for each hour of sound (see Discounts).
- background materials (audience handouts, proper spelling of names, industry-specific terms used, and a list of other words that are not found in a dictionary).
- label recordings.
- clearly indicate if we are to begin transcribing anywhere other than the beginning of any recording.
- keep your account current.
Late fees of 2% per month will be assessed after 30 days.
